I am the youngest of four kids in my family. I have two older sisters, and one brother, who is the oldest. Alex and Lauren are married to Kate and Logan, respectively, so they are very often coming on these sibling gatherings as well. Our family grew up playing sports, going camping, and doing many things together as a family, which was an amazing blessing. As we have grown up, my siblings and I became closer and closer on our own and started planning trips for just us siblings.
These trips started first with just visiting in college. Nicole was living in Boise, and we would plan sibling weekends to get more of us together on each visit. Many of the trips were either to Boise or Seattle, where Alex lives, and where Lauren lived for a year. Once I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, I finally had a new place for the siblings to visit, and this time, I could be the host.
The whole gang met up in Fort Collins for my Thanksgiving Break at CSU, and it was one of the most entertaining trips we have had. Lauren and Logan moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where I am currently living, and we have already gotten multiple sibling weekends here in Wisconsin. As of now, the sibling trip is back in the NW at my brother’s new house in Maple Valley, Washington, just outside of Seattle.
Alex and Kate just bought their house back in June, and for Lauren, Logan, and I, this is our first time even seeing it in person. Now that Nicole graduated from Boise State, and I have stepped away from college, this sibling trip was a little bit more of a process to plan, since month long Christmas breaks are no longer the option.
I arrived in Seattle December 23rd at midnight and will be staying until the 29th. This week is going to be amazing, and I can’t wait for the new memories we are about to make. I’ll have to share stories from this week, and hopefully some hilarious photos as well!
