Last year at CSU, I was a brother in Theta Chi Fraternity, and that is who I spent the majority of my time with. In the Spring of 2018, a group of us were taking part in "college festivities" before we headed to a philanthropy event. Thankfully, we were only attending this philanthropy in support of the Kappa Delta sorority, as this was not our own event. After rallying the troops, around 15 of us made the long walk, across the parking lot, to the Kappa Delta house. It was extremely convenient how close we lived to the KD's.
The philanthropy was well setup and had a large attendance. Unfortunately, this large attendance was made up of mostly Kappa Delta sisters, who were required to attend. The executive decision was made, after enjoying the free food, of course, that our convoy was ready to leave. My friends and I ventured out the side door, walked back to our house, and decided to continue the "festivities".
As part of their philanthropy, KD had a local band playing live in their backyard, which was so perfectly directed towards our house. Naturally, I recommended that we get on the roof, and without a word of opposition, we found ourselves staggering to new heights. At first, the six of us on the roof were in good spirits just sitting in the sun listening to this live music only 50 feet away. That is, until the sun started its fateful descent...
We are now loud and proud on this rooftop, and receiving much wanted attention. In rowdy fashion, we were nowhere near sober, which really brought the party to life. My mission was to take over the attention of the philanthropy, and we succeeded with relative ease. As the sun continued to dwindle, we could be seen dancing and singing along to the live band. The philanthropy ended up going way past schedule, as we kept shouting for encore songs, and nobody was really bothered by this haha!
The sight of cell phones filming us only encouraged our behavior, and I instantly shouted out "ROOF GANG!!" We were the crew now, with a new tradition many more wanted to participate in, to a fault. The guys in the house, did not appreciate the stream of people asking to get on their roof, so it became almost VIP to head up there.
This is just one fun story of my time at CSU, and all the great memories I made with friends in my fraternity. It's a lifestyle I guess!
