"Live, travel, adventure, bless, and don't be sorry."
Creating a blog has presented unique challenges I must overcome. Schools introduce objectives for students which must be accomplished within a provided framework, whereas a blog gives absolute freedom over creative direction. Discerning what I hope to achieve with my blog in addition to formulating an action plan has been a wonderful opportunity for personal reflection. Through intentional planning, I have defined my goals for the blog, which will provide direction for my work.
Authorship Development
Personal development provides tremendous intrinsic motivation, particularly in pursuit of skills I once considered unattainable. I have developed this empowering growth mindset over the past six months in Wisconsin. Pursuing and excelling in my role as a framing carpenter without prior experience has tremendously impacted my outlook on life’s possibilities. The fear of failure has diminished, and I am confident in my ability to achieve anything I desire through persistent effort. One desire of mine is to become a self-published author, and producing this blog is my initial step towards attaining that goal.
My intent for blogging is to improve my writing abilities and eventually produce an exceptional self-published book. In two months, my ability to articulate thoughts into long-form writing has improved substantially, which excites me as I think about my potential output after a year of blogging. The resources available for aspiring authors eliminates barriers to entry, leaving only the writing a great body of work. By removing myself from formal education, the results I desire will come about as a product of consistent practice rather than lectures and textbooks, and this blog provides the necessary platform.
Document My Journey
Through long-form writing, I will be documenting my adventures in a way I believe social media can’t. Now that I am not writing research papers for a grade, I can truly discover this hidden talent teachers have told me I possessed. This blog allows me to share my experiences in a way pictures fall short, while developing a tremendous skill in the process. The Brightside Hustle is an outward expression of the passion I have to live an incredible life. I am striving to dream fearlessly and live adventurously, which I will document as I travel, work, build, and interact with others.
Collaborate With Others
When working on my passions, I tend to remove myself from social environments. I find comfort and control when I work alone, whereas I am outgoing and energetic with those close to me. A combination of introverted focus states along with extroverted social liveliness accurately describes my character, and I hope blogging can effectively combine the two. I firmly believe that everyone has a unique story worth sharing, and that you never know who you may impact by sharing your story.
A great deal of this blog will describe the individuals and experiences which have shaped my personality. Tools of Titans has impacted the way I view other people’s lives, as I find myself intrigued to hear of the ambitions, challenges, and accomplishments of everyone, not simply the most successful people. I am passionate to learn about how others view opportunities in life, so I will be using this blog to share “profiles” on those who wouldn’t be heard from otherwise. This means friends, family, teachers, coaches, coworkers, and anyone else I come in contact with through my experiences.
Through creative writing, I want to share the stories, struggles, and passions of others. Every person presents a new view of life, which presents infinite wisdom waiting to be shared. I am passionately pursuing my ideal life, and I want to use this blog to assist others in pursuit of theirs. Writing these “profiles” is not meant to elevate my blog status, but rather instill confidence and joy in others pursuing their ambitions. I am eager to engage and produce profiles on those who have been a part of my life, so if you are interested, feel free to reach out!
