I am stoked! Just got this Kombucha Brewing Kit from The Kombucha Shop, and I couldn’t be more excited today. Kombucha is one of those go to things for me, and as a result, I end up spending my “fun money” on that in the same way someone might buy ice cream as a treat. Every time I head to the grocery store, I pick up a new flavor of Kombucha to try. I’m blessed to have multiple brewing companies local in Wisconsin, which I didn’t have access to before moving here. These companies create great booch, and each new flavor makes me consider what I would do similar or differently. Now it truly is up to me!
This Kombucha Brewing Kit has crossed my radar before, but never too seriously, as I just couldn’t see myself brewing kombucha enough to justify the purchase. Well what if it wasn’t my money buying this kit? If I take the cost completely out of consideration, would I brew kombucha if I owned this? Absolutely! This kit was so generously given to me as a Christmas gift from my older sister Lauren. You should have seen the smile on my face and pure joy when I opened this gift.
Lauren has given me many gifts that reinvigorate the childlike happiness residing within. I am so grateful for the thought she puts into gifts based on things I am passionate and even curious about. I believe she was the one who first told me about kombucha many years ago.
The first time I had kombucha, which I like to call booch, was in Denver with all of my siblings. My whole gang of siblings came out to stay in Colorado for Thanksgiving when I went to CSU, and a kombucha taproom was one of the places we visited during their stay. Before trying kombucha, I only thought of it as some hipster fad, which I categorized along with paleo, crossfit, yoga, and nootropics haha. Now look at me, I love all those things!
I’ve tried to avoid become the man-bun rocking, tattoo laden, hipster most people would associate with Kombucha and those sorts of items, but I can’t deny the fact that I truly appreciate and enjoy those similar interests. I would call myself a conservative hipster if you must put a label on it haha. Research is one thing I thoroughly enjoy, and thanks to the habits of my older siblings, I have been introduced to many things, such as nootropics, crossfit, yoga, journaling, and kombucha. I then research them abundantly, and formulate my own stance on each of them, deciding whether it is something I will incorporate into my life.
I’ll bring it back to my original focus of this post, which is brewing my own kombucha, and how enthusiastic I am about this kit. The first batch will be very insightful, and I envision myself exploring many various directions with my own kombucha brewing. The prospect of having complete creative freedom to produce a product that is most intriguing to me, is a pillar part of my approach to life. Now that booch is so popular, there are countless recipes, tips, and tricks which I will soon be able to delve into. A big shout out to The Kombucha Shop for creating such an awesome product! I will be sure to share more stories as I start brewing my own batches, so be on the lookout for that!
